What is storage space?

Storage space is the amount of disk space that you need to have a website. Think of it like a cupboard for clothes. The cupboard is the storage space and the clothes are your website - if you have a lot of clothes then you need a bigger cupboard and vice versa.

How much storage space do I need?

This varies with the size and nature (see question 'How much monthly bandwidth do i need?') of your website. it also depends on the size of your website. For example if it contains photos or movie clips etc it will be bigger.

What is monthly bandwidth?

 Monthly bandwidth is the total amount of data that is transferred by people looking at your website every month. this again varies from website to website.

How much monthly bandwidth do I need?

As stated above this varies according to the nature of your website. Lets have a looks at a few examples:

• Your site has a lot of visitors coming on and looking around but your site is not that big (See above "How much storage space do I need?') you will have a high monthly transfer of data

• Your site has fewer visitors abut has loads of photos and movie clips etc - the transfer will be higher.

• If you have a very small website (eg: a 2 page static website), even if you have a lot of visitors - chances are your transfer requirements are not going to be big.

A rule of thumb here is the bigger the site the more monthly bandwidth you will need.

What is web design?

Web design is the the way your website looks when published on the internet. It is what you see. Web design may be done by yourself (cheapest option but time consuming) or we can do it for you (you tell us what you want and we will design it)

What is a static page?

A static page is a website that does not change often. They can go for months without changing. This is not recommended to most clients but it can be a very useful tool for your business if done well.

Static pages can be updated but changes are limited and often charged over and above the hosting fee.

What is a dynamic page?

A dynamic page is a website that changes often to meet your needs. the changes may be specials that you are running or new products that you are offering or adding to the product list etc.

This is not a cheap option but it is very important for you to keep your business (or personal) website up to date with the latest happenings.

I live in a European country and your hosting company is in South Africa - Can we still have our website hosted with you?

Absolutely yes!! This is the beauty of the internet. Our servers are in the United States of America and, as you say, we are in South Africa. All you need is an internet connection to be able have your website hosted with us!
